Sunshine, Glory, and I were out earlier this morning to catch a free summer movie at a local movie theater. After the movie, we had planned to drop by Target so Glory could spend her gift card that Aunt L. gave her for her birthday. Now, when we arrived at the theater, all set to see the movie, what does Glory announce in a very big voice?? Mama, I forgot my shoes!! As in Glory has NO SHOES ON! So my plan was, while trying to stay calm, was to go into Target right away and buy her a pair of flip-flops at the dollar spot. All regular Target customers know about the famous "dollar spot". But they don't have tiny flip-flops at the dollar spot. And they don't have tiny flip-flops that are cheap, anywhere at Target. So......while the clock is ticking, because we should be arriving at the movie about now, I decide to get Glory a pair of tennies that she will need when school starts, because she had outgrown her other ones. So we very quick like find a pair that fit her, rush to the check out counter, and what do we end up spending the gift card on?? The new tennies, of course! Because it was Glory's responsibility to "wear her shoes when we go out", and she forgot, I decided using the gift card in this way would be a good idea. Maybe her memory will kick in a little sooner next time??? She loves the shoes, she needed them, and thanks to Aunt L., it didn't cost me anything. And we were still able to see the movie! You didn't plan this all along, did you Glory??
