A Change is Coming

Time has flown again, and believe it or not, we really have had a lot going on.

To start off, Daddy has a new job. The " poor economy" hit us like it did so many other Americans. He was laid off for 3 1/2 months, and thankfully, just as severence was running out, the Lord stepped in and gave him an opportunity in Virginia.

Not exactly in our plans, but when is life really "our plan" anyway? So we quickly shifted gears, and turned our thoughts and energy into this new job situation and how we would handle the upcoming changes. We decided that Daddy would commute, living 2 1/2 hours away during the week and returning home on weekends. This is easily done and thankfully an easy drive. So while I play single mom during the week, taking the girls with me to school, and continuing our various activities during the week, he gets to know the city that we will someday call home.

We put a "for sale" sign in our front yard, began doing some needed beautification on certain areas of the yard to make it more appealing to a potential buyer, and prepared ourselves for many months of keeping the house nice and tidy since it was now on the market.

But once again.......we were surprised. Our home sold in 2 weeks, and I decided there must be a reason for this move to Virginia! So we had to think fast, deciding to stay here in town, and we would take our time finding a new home in Virginia. Sunshine and Glory could finish the school year, I could complete a year in the school office, and we would move into an apartment in the meantime.

So our temporary residence is a cozy, 2 bedroom apartment, which we are loving and getting used to at the same time. Apartment life is a little different from our house, but we can handle it for 6 more months.

So the fun begins along with the countdown to a new place to call home.

Before we moved to this apartment, the girls, full of wonder and questions, were most worried about Christmas and where we would spend it since we weren't in our "home" any more. My answer to this was that we would still have Christmas where ever we were, and Christmas is where our family is. They realized that our "home" is where our family is and that the house itself or "little aparment" is not what's important. We were together.

"Home" is where our family is........and our stuff.
