We could go to a minor league baseball game that has fireworks at the end of the game, the beach, or to a friends cookout where fireworks are also part of the evening.
We didn't choose any of those, however, because the idea of tubing down a river came to me and I quickly googled "tubing down a river". What we came up with was a river only 2 hours away that we can float down in 2-3 hours.
It was perfect. The weather was great, the river was slow and steady except for a few rapids ( very fun), and the girls had a great time.
Glory, however, wasn't so sure in the beginning. When she got on her raft and started to float, looking ahead at the long river that lay ahead of her, she wasn't so sure she wanted to go through with this. " I wish you never heard of this place"!! But it only took maybe 10 minutes for her to realize that this was pretty fun and she could, after all float down this river without any problems.
I was really proud of Sunshine who was gung ho from the beginning and helped to make this "ride" a very smooth one.
We ended our day with a visit to a friends house who lives not too far away, made complete with hamburgers, watermelon, a town fireworks display, and a nice cozy bed.
How much better can that get??
