We were invited to the lake last weekend by our good friends L. and Ch., and this is where their daughter and husband live. It's over 2 hours from our house, and was an easy drive that allowed us to enjoy the scenery and all that surrounded us.
With a cloudy, cool, Saturday, and a sunny, warm Sunday, the weekend was beautiful!
Sunshine and Glory helped paddle our friends' canoe around the lake, fed the ducks and fish, and were able to pick some grapes that are, frankly, and little more fun to pick than they are to eat. A different kind of grape than we are used to, with a skin that is not to be eaten, and has seeds in the middle. Again, more fun to pick than eat.
They discovered the art of playing pool which kept them busy for quite a while, and made 2 yummy apple pies with our very gracious host.
We walked up the road, and found horses that were easy to visit with, and friendly with our curious girls. They really are so much bigger up close than they appear to be from a distance!
With such good company, gorgeous days, and beautiful surroundings, how could the weekend have been any better?
