Hidden Surprises

You may know by now that I love to take day trips. (or weekend trips, I'm not picky)

We have quite a bit to choose from in the way of places to go for the day, and on this particular day, because my niece and her handsome little guy were visiting, we came across this little  park, and decided to drive maybe 40 minutes east to spend the day at the spray park.  Only we couldn't spend all day at the spray park since it didn't open until 1 pm.  And it was raining.  But we try to make the best of things.

So we found a sheltered area at a nearby, very wooded park, got some snacks and hung out there until the rain let up. Only it didn't let up.  So we decided to seek out the nearest mall, since we could escape the rain all together, and kill some time  (you guessed it)......  until the rain let up.  After cruising the mall for a while,  it did stop raining, the sun appeared, and we were able to venture out for some lunch.

Because it was nice and warm,  we were finally able to make it to the spray park.  But it offered more than I thought, since it had a carousel, train (not operating on this particular day), slides ,a jungle gym,  and of course, ..... the water. Sunshine and Glory had a blast getting wet, while K. (my little nephew) had fun keeping his mom busy on the stairs of the jungle gym.  He wasn't interested in the spray park, he only wanted to go up and down, up and down, up ...( you get the picture).

So for a day that could have been a "wash", we, once again, ....... had a really good time.

I love day trips!
