That's right. We had a snake in our backyard!
Our faithful dog Lucy was the first to notice it a couple of weeks ago. She won't bark at a stranger, but she'll bark at a snake ( or other dogs). Anyway, since it was a black snake, the kind that are not harmful, unless you're a mouse or other type of small critter, we let it slide on back, on it's own, out of our yard.
Or so we thought.
This past weekend, again, Lucy let us know that the little squirmer was back. (we're thinking it's the same one, but maybe it's just a twin) Anyway, this time we decided to give it a new home, far away from our own home. And would you believe Sunshine held it's tail and helped her dad take it to the pond that's back in the way back of our yard?? That in itself is unbelievable! Way to go Sunshine. What happened to you? My all of a sudden brave little girl!
Glory would have nothing to do with it and high tailed it into the house before her dad could even try to get her to touch it. And me?? I barely felt that tail and decided I had enough. I only wondered how many of those snakes does it take to make a pair of daddy's boots?
