Old Salem Girls

Old Salem is about 2 hours away and a place that has been preserved from the 1700's.  It's open to the public and contains about 2 blocks of homes, stores, and businesses from that period of time. Each home, office, store etc. is still in it's original form and has most of it's original contents from that period in time.  People are dressed in period costumes and show us the way the early settlers and Moravian population lived.

That's where Sunshine and I spent the day along with our friends S. and M.  The girls had a great time, as I did as well.  It was an amazing place, full of history, wonder, and curiosity.  One of the buildings was a Tavern and Inn that George Washington stayed in for 2 nights as he passed through town.

It's hard for me to picture such a different time and different way of living.  But it's great to remember how life was and how life has changed through time.

It was a great day, and I enjoyed being with friends,....... and my  girl, Sunshine.
